Installed a ProLine sliding door in June 2014. A few months over 2 years later I noticed water laying on the inside track.

Called Pella and was told the instructions stated to caulk around exterior glass (INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT STATE THIS). Pella said it would cost $400 to install a new stationary part of the door. Other components on the door are under warranty for 10-20 years. Leaking is only warrantied for 2 years.

I caulked and the leak stopped for awhile. Just noticed water in the track again. The grey putty like water seal they used is not waterproof since I can see it seeping out the bottom (see photo). This is a defect in workmanship!

I am not an expert but I don't think you would be required to caulk the space between the glass and the exterior clad. I will never buy another Pella product again.

Oh by the way Pella, the weep holes are not clogged. Also, since the sliding part of the door is on the exterior track, you cannot use a security bar (poor design).
