Windows installed in 1998 (Architect series), condensation has destroyed sashes on most..

Pella wants $200 to come out and even inspect the windows, another $250 per hour to replace damaged sash..

Fast on the sales, slow on service and even worse on problems with products.. A company that is destined to ruin because of producing just plain lousy engineering... And we wonder why China gets our money...

It is strange that I have half a dozen companies more than willing to come out and just look at these windows for free and the people that sold them wont.. Someone tell me how this works?

Monetary Loss: $32000.

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana

Pella has marketed their windows well. They have rolled form aluminum clad on all the lines they offer.

If you don't know, that is the cheapest and shortest life expectancy of a clad wood window. They make everyone think that their architect series is so much better than thier proline.

They aren't. Do your homework- look for extruded clad windows or fiberglass clad windows.

Condensation IS NOT an issue caused by the window. It is caused from too much moisture in the air.

The windows are doing what they were made to do - keep inside air in and outside air out. Lower inside moisture and problem will be solved.

I have Proline and Architect series double hung - installed 1999. I have the same problem.

But; It was not evident due to it being aluminum clad, until I touched the outside. It all fell apart.
